Divisions of the Sheriff Department
Divisions Overview
The Office Staff of the Vance County Sheriff's Office provides a valuable service to the citizens of Vance County. Our office staff consists of an office manager, three support specialists and one sworn Deputy.
Commander:Captain W.W. Bullock - Office Manager: Pat Ayscue

The Vance County Sheriff's Office Civil Division is responsible for all civil processes that are issued to the Sheriff of Vance County.
Commander: Lieutenant M.G. Stainback - Supervisor: Sergeant A.F. Andrews

The Vance County Sheriff's Office, Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is comprised of five (5) specially trained Deputies and two supervisors that investigate and follow up on crimes that occur in Vance County.
Commander: Lieutenant S.T. Lyles - Supervisor: Sergeant J.R. Ferguson

The Patrol Division is comprised of Four (4) Sergeants, Fourteen (14) Patrol Deputies and Four (4) K-9 Deputies. It is broken down into four (4) squads that work twelve hour shifts on a rotating basis.

The Narcotics Division is comprised of four (4) specially trained Deputies. These Deputies conduct investigations in Vance County and also assist other agencies that surround Vance County.

The Vance County Detention Center is located in Henderson, North Carolina. The purpose of this facility is to maintain the safe and secure custody of those persons who have not posted bond and are awaiting court hearings for criminal misconduct.
